Ted Wilkinson and his wife Renee were the landlords of the Dog and Bottle pub in Handover Street, Pendlebury before Newton & Ridley transformed it into The Riverboat, an American theme pub. Along with everything bar the bricks and mortar, the Wilkinsons were not retained following the transition and took "early retirement".
