The Naughty/Nice Plot Device is the first story in chapter 33 of Sluggy Freelance, A Seed of Knowledge. The alien Santa Claus is reviewing his files on the gang and their pets, which reveal that Gwynn kept the proceeds of the Halloween party for herself and Bun-bun. Bun-bun was given an anonymous tip that if he kills Santa, he becomes the next Santa (and plots to have Kiki kill Santa).
