Shorrocks was a plainclothes Detective Sergeant, serving with the Weatherfield Police in the early 1960s. On 29th April 1963, he interviewed Emily Nugent and Doreen Lostock at Gamma Garments, as they had seen two men who were responsible for stealing stock from the clothing shop. Shorrocks took a description of the men from Emily and Dorren, and was puzzled when they gave a precise description of the older man, but couldn't remember anything about the other. Nevertheless, the stock was recovered on 1st May. Shorrocks spoke with a Welsh accent. The character was credited as Det. Sgt. Shorrocks.
