The Rabbi's Cat is the pet of an Algerian rabbi and his lovely daughter, Zlabya. One day, he gobbles up the family parrot and is gained the ability to speak. Much to the dismay of his master, he begins to tell lies. The rabbi soon begins teaching him the ways of Judaism, but the cat insists on studying the kabbalah and having a Bar Mitzvah. Throughout the story, the cat struggles with his bond with the rabbi and Zlabya.
