Meraxes was a great dragon that lived during the War of Conquest and reign of Aegon I Targaryen, the first king of the Seven Kingdoms. He was the middle dragon, smaller than Balerion, but bigger than Vhagar. Its scales were silver, and his eyes golden. Along with Balerion and Vhagar, the beast was one of the main weapons used by Aegon in his conquest of Westeros. It was ridden by Aegon's younger sister-wife, Rhaenys Targaryen.
