"We're a Family" was a song performed by the Anything Muppets on Sesame Street in the late 1970s. David, as a representative of the Bureau of Statistical Research and Analysis, gives his reports of a study on families, and presents a "typical family": a father, a mother, and two adorable kids. The family appears in a box in the corner of the screen and sings a verse about their family. They are soon accompanied (in another box) by a little girl, her mother, and a pet hamster. The girl informs David that a family doesn't necessarily have to have siblings or two parents, and sings an additional verse with her mother on her family structure.
