Rizzo was a minor character on The Muppet Show, but became part of the major cast in the nineties, starting with The Muppet Christmas Carol. He is Gonzo's roommate and best friend and the pair appeared together in a number of productions including The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppets Tonight, Muppet Treasure Island and Muppets from Space.
