The Nightmare Pickaxe is a tool that can mine most blocks and ores. The Nightmare Pickaxe is also the third-best Pickaxe in Pre-Hardmode before the Deathbringer Pickaxe. It is the Corruption equivalent of the Deathbringer Pickaxe. On blocks like dirt or clay, it digs at about 3.6 blocks a second, while with harder blocks like stone it digs at 1.9 blocks a second. It mines the hardest blocks, such as ebonstone, at almost 1 block a second. It can mine both Hellstone and Obsidian, unlike the Platinum Pickaxe. However, it's incapable of mining Cobalt Ore, Mythril Ore and Adamantite Ore.
