Artificial insemination is a fertility treatment where semen from a donor is inserted with a tube through the cervix into the uterus during ovulation. It is commonly used by unattached women using semen from a friend or a donor bank. However, it can also be used by couples where either the male suffers from poor sperm motility, or there might be barriers in the woman's reproductive system.
