Monado Shield, though slightly altered appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. When Shulk uses his neutral special move, Monado Arts, he can activate an art that simultaneously increases and decreases certain attributes for a brief period of time. In the case of Monado Shield, Shulk receives far less damage and knockback from attacks, but his agility is severely reduced, both on ground and in midair. When Shield is in use, Shulk glows yellow, harkening back to the color of the original Monado Shield. The function is overall more similar to Monado Armour than the original Shield, in that it reduces damage taken from attacks as opposed to neutralizing a specific attacks.
