After his failure to regain the SCU Unplugged Championship at A Taste of Violence, Francisco Lopez was put into a match against Chris Ghensi. The Carter Family were unaware, however, that Ghensi had joined Lopez and Rayne's army against the family in charge. The world was shocked as Manson left the Warlords and renamed himself Jeff Goldstein. It was announced that Goldstein would be teaming up with a mystery partner to create the team Thrill Kult.
