Kerry Gilley was a Manticoran citizen and an officer of the Royal Manticoran Navy. Although young and innocent looking, he was actually prone to mischief; he and Petty Officer Mark Paulk once took an admiral's pinnace out for an unauthorized flight. Holding the rank of Lieutenant (JG), he served as astrogation officer of the light attack craft Cutthroat. He was killed when the vessel was destroyed by Havenite fire in the Battle of MacGregor.
