The mines were introduced in Heroes of the Storm when Penny was taking Mandy, Norman and The Twins potholing on her day off, but unbeknownst to her a hurricane had raptly developed and Fireman Sam had to go to the mines and warn Penny and the kids. Sam manages to find them but before they had a chance to leave a rock fall accrued, trapping them in the mines and leading them to go down the old miners route, but along the way they faced very difficult hurdles. First a bit of the path was flooded leaving everyone unsure what to do next so Sam decided to swim to the other side to see if the path was clear.
