Mrs. Annika Herzfeld is the unfortunate soul whose only child, Jane, is found dead at the start of "Kick the Ballistics". Mrs. Herzfeld raised a daughter whom, she knows, would never have touched drugs, but her daughter's ex, Finn McQueen is a different matter. The two women were very close, talking on the phone every day, and Mrs. Herzfeld would presumably feel the anguish of any loving parent at losing her daughter, particularly so young, and in such a senseless manner.
