Books released under the Elmo's World banner primarly feature photos of Elmo by John Barrett and some crayon-style illustrations. Artists have included Mary Beth Nelson, Anne Duax, Louis Womble, Mark Skillicorn, and Peter Panas. The books use very few words, relying almost entirely on imagery. When writers have been credited, they have included Jenny Miglis, Kara McMahon, and Naomi Kleinberg.
