[Source] Energy binder was a device that connects two objects by beam. Many of the racing machines used for pod races were combining multiple large engines with energy binders. The energy binder played a role of pressing down the engine so that it did not jump in another direction during the race, leading to an accident such as a crash of the machine if the beam was cut off during the race.
