The MacClivert clan was a wizarding family led by Dugald McClivert. They lived on the Isle of Drear, and were engaged in a feud with their neighbours, the MacBoon clan. According to legend, after Dugald was killed by Quintius MacBoon in a drunken duel, the clan attacked the MacBoons and Transfigured the entire family into Quintapeds. Realising too late that they had now made the MacBoons more dangerous than ever, the entire McClivert clan was wiped out by the carnivorous beasts. Whether or not the legend is true is unclear. There are no surviving McCliverts to relay the family story.
