The New Economic Mechanism (NEM) was a list of economic goals that was designed to strengthen Gusztavia's economy after it's revolution, making the nation both militarily and industrially self-sufficient. Zebestyen believed his country had to develop a national industry to secure communist rule, making his motivation in formulating the plan much clearer and more pressing later on. Launched by the Gusztavia regime and administered by the various planning departments, this economic Plan has employed tactics such as keeping detailed records on every item manufactured in the nation and shipping it to where it needed to go at the right time.
