Planetary Domination is the process of destroying a or 's defense fleet, then demanding tribute from the planet's population. It is fairly effective as a way of making money, and is popular among skilled players. Most planets have a defense fleet consisting of 120 starships that launch in waves of 6. The classes of ships launched depends on the planet - independent or low-tech worlds primarily have less powerful ships such as Valkyries and IDA Frigates, while rich core worlds have powerful, cutting edge ships belonging to that planet's government, and in a few cases will have more ships.
