Palpatine murdered his own family to gain power and this was soon noted when the Sith Lord Darth Plagueis who was also know as Hego Damask the Magister of the Plasma corporation known as Damask Holdings came before him, seeing him worthy after the killing of his own powerful Noble House to gain their power, Plagueis inducted him into the Order. Like the Masters before him, Plagueis "communicated with the Darkside, for inspiration on a fitting Sith name for Palpatine. In Palpatine, Plagueis saw an "insidious" nature within him, mixed with ambition, pride and a lust for power. Hence, the Dark Lord of the Sith anointed his new apprentice as, Darth Sidious.
