Evike Bastian is a barrel of a woman, of moderate height and a powerful build. The thick-set body is hard with ropy tendon rather than flesh. The calluses raised by a lifetime's work with the sword, as well as the wide purple scars that mark her flesh, speak of fighting and fighting well. Her age makes itself plain in the gray of her hair and the deep creases and textures of her face.
