The Surprise Beat Record (or simply the Surprise Record in the PAL Version) is a record introduced in Nintendogs + Cats. It can be bought from the BARC shop at the beginning of the game for $30 and later can be sold for $15 at Mr. Recycle. The melody features a calm, fantasy tune which abruptly at various points in the song gives a surprise effect which can occasionally scare dogs.
