Nakiro, commonly known as 'The Blade', was a bandit and murderer who harassed the Phoenix lands. He was caught by an Isawa Ishiken, Isawa Chiroku. It was said that Nakiro's mind had been invaded by Chiroku, who could not leave from it and had remained inside. The bandit's brain could not overcome the guest, so Nikaru died in prison, with his corpse horribly deformed and twisted.
