The town's mayor is Mayor Chestnut, who appointed Sonic as the local Sheriff to get rid of Robotnik after the previous Sheriff (a rabbit) was scared away by Six Gun Pete. Once Robotnik was defeated, Sonic retired and was appointed the local bartender, leaving Miss Possum as the new Sheriff.
