Board 8 StarCraft League will be a competition run by someone where B8ers play each other over StarCraft's battle.net in the hopes of becoming the B8 SC Champion. Season Beta will be conducted during some month of some year as a preliminary test to see what kind of interest ongoing SC League seasons would generate. The season has not started, but has already been declared a "smashing success" by Ngamer, just because it's such a good idea.
