CY Gas was a chemical weapon developed by the CIS during the clone wars in 20 BBY. It was used to stealthy incapacitate enemies that breathed oxygen and it worked by blocking the ability to store oxygen in the blood. It was used to kill entire civilians during sieges on planets.
