Chico D'Amato was the corner man for mixed martial arts fighter Jake "The Spider" Webb. Shortly before Webb's match against former champion Mark Kendall at the Staples Center, D'Amato gave Webb a pep talk to boost his spirits. Reminding him that his grandfather Martin was in the audience, he encouraged him to weather Kendall's initial assault; as soon as the doubt crept in, Webb would take him down.
