Jews Offering New Alternatives to Homosexuality (JONAH) is a Jewish organization that focuses on “prevention, intervention, and healing of the underlying issues causing same-sex attractions”. They take the literal view of the Torah that prohibits male homosexual behavior. This position is universally accepted by the Orthodox rabbinate as well as some of the Conservative rabbinate. As such, most of its members are Orthodox Jews. Although the Torah does not prohibit homosexual thoughts, JONAH claims to help its members overcome homosexual thoughts. They believe everyone can change, because the Creator has endowed mankind with freewill.
