A group of dangerous rapids that swell toward the mouth of the Dunan River, average ships are unable to navigate the Dunan Rapids due to the fast and powerful nature of the current. The Rapids were eventually successfully crossed, thanks to the engineer Kamandol, who created a machine engine that ran by burning oil and attached it to a boat; this invention proved powerful enough that the Dunan Rapids were successfully crossed by the Liberation Army crew.
