The 1979 NAPA National 500 was a Winston Cup Series (now Nextel Cup) event held at Lowe's Motor Speedway on October 7, 1979. Cale Yarborough won his final race of the year, taking the lead late but expanded his final margin of victory over runner-up Bobby Allison to more than a lap by the time the race was over.
