James Dewar was elected to the Senate in 3148. Dewar's older sister, Katy, was elected to the Senate in the same election. He was known to be extraordinarily ambitious but his support for defeated leadership candidates did not help him move up in the Senate. He supported Lou Borjas in 3151 and Marlin DeGroote in 3154. The leadership election generated a lot of interest due to both Dewar and his sister running for the leadership. The two were constantly running neck and neck in the polls and ultimately Dewar won on the last round, beating out his sister by less than 1%.
