Codenamed Project Sleipnir during development, the Rakata Modular Assault Cruiser is inspired by the modular nature of the Strike-class Medium Cruiser & the form of the warships of the ancient Rakata Empire. The central bulb of the starship contains all the vital systems & components of the ship, along with the ship's reactor & the crew sections. Each of the three 'wing' is actually a removable component that can be changed out to allow the RMAC to change between different combat roles with ease. All three wings use identical layouts & can be switched around without problems, this makes storage & installation much easier as the need to deal with multiple variants of the same part is always a cause for headaches.
