Kuni Itsuki was a shugenja of the Crab Clan who trained with the Tamori in his youth. He was a lecherous sycophant in the court of the Imperial Governor of the Colonies Otomo Suikihime. He used to chatter with Shosuro Chiharu, a courtly musician. In 1198 he was dazzled by the charming Darling of the Court Tamori Sumire.
