Phil was the driver of the car that Megan Macey accidentally bumped into the back of in January 2017. Megan and Phil swapped details, and the following day Megan and her ex-husband Jai Sharma met Phil in The Woolpack. Phil asked Megan for £750, which Jai couldn't believe as only the bumper was damaged. Former conman Frank Clayton overhear this and followed Phil and confronted him outside the toilets where Phil offered Frank £100 to keep quiet. Frank told Megan that she was being ripped off, admitting to being a conman in front of everyone in the pub. Phil walked off after Megan asked to go through the insurance companies.
