Douglas Monroe is a main character first encountered in Issue 70 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead. He is a former Democratic Ohio U.S. Congressman who now leads the Alexandria Safe-Zone when he takes control after Alexander Davidson. Douglas lives in the Safe-Zone with his wife, Regina, and their son, Spencer. After the death of his wife, Douglas struggles to come to terms with his loss, filled with regret for treating her poorly. This leads him to turn his leadership over to Rick Grimes.
