The Michigan State League operated at varied classifications during it's tenure. As follows: (1886, 1889-94) unclassified; (1895) Class B; (1896) unclassified; (1897, 1902, 1911-14) Class D; *(1926) Class B; (1940-41) Class C. *In 1926, the teams from Central League and Michigan-Ontario League merged. Called West Michigan League in 1910. 1886 Battle Creek MI, , Bay City MI, Grand Rapids MI, Jackson MI, Kalamazoo MI, Saginaw MI 1889 Grand Rapids MI, Greenville MI, Jackson MI, Kalamazoo MI, Lansing MI, Saginaw MI and Kalamazoo, MI which moved to Flint, MI during the season.
