Kōrinotsurugi (こうりのつるぎliterally meaning: Ice Blades) are the Land of Iron's equivalent of the ANBU and the Hunter-nin of Kirigakure. They generally serve as assassins, sabotagers and spies for the generals of samurai armies and only take orders from he highest offices in the country's military. Their missions usually takes them far outside the borders of the Land of Iron, contradicting the country's famous neutrality. While the contry is saddened to do this it will never hesitate to brand any of the Kōrinotsurugi's members a Ronin, the samurais equal to a Missing-nin, if they should be captured or fail horribly while on missions or simply exposed. the country will immediately serve all contact and connections to the captured Kōrinotsurugi and will usually issue an A-rank or higher mission
