Pinyin is the most common standard for representing Standard Mandarin in the Latin alphabet. For a complete description of pinyin, see pinyin. In 2004, after using Pinyin in typing Chinese over years, Mr. Jiang, Yi 江毅 found that the overall typing efficiency of Pinyin can be improved by simplifying Pinyin rules in a simple way: (1) Any occurance of "ng" can be simplified as (simply) g; e.g., "tang" can be simplified as "tag". (2) Any occurance of "iao" can be simplified as "io"(助记:衣凹腰); e.g., "tiao" can be simplified as "tio".
