It is later revealed that Lupin is a werewolf, one of the three best friends of Harry's father James Potter when at school, and a co-creator of the Marauder's Map. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, he marries Nymphadora Tonks, a Metamorphmagus, the daughter of Andromeda and Ted Tonks, second cousin of Sirius Black and third cousin of Draco Malfoy. Nymphadora, more often known as Tonks, bears him a son, Teddy Lupin. Both Remus and Tonks are, tragically, slain in the final battle at Hogwarts.
