Bruno of Lauffen (also called Bruno of Bretten; c. 1045 - 25 April 1124) was the Archbishop of Trier from 1102 until 1124. Bruno was born in Bretten as a son of Count Arnold of Bretten and Lauffen. Bruno was a skilled diplomat and negotiator. He sided with the Emperor Henry IV during the Investiture Controversy, and was a skilled mediator between the Emperor and Pope. Because of this, Henry made Bruno one of the Governors of the Empire.
