Choro was a ronin. He was hired as yoriki to Miya Ichiko, the local magistrate of Kalani's Landing. Yoritomo Hogai was the other yoriki. Choro was completely loyal to Ichiko, who had given him a secure and respected place by enlisting him as her yoriki.
