Around six weeks after Emergence Day, Clarkson was part of the effort to defend the city of Halvo Bay from a huge Locust assault. Clarkson was part of Col. Ezra Loomis' Onyx Guard detachment that guarded a courthouse while Kilo Squad was put on trial. While Cdt. Sofia Hendrik gave her testimony, Clarkson was killed by the Locust assaulting the courthouse. Clarkson's COG Tag was later recovered by Lt. Damon Baird of Kilo Squad.
