They are charged with the investigation of the smaller crimes as well as helping with the high risk cases, they provide the volume and are more then equipped with their skills and their abilities to handle the job. It is often seen as the starting point to the rest of the Magical Law Enforcement with pathways into the Auror Division and the Hit Wizard Division being two of the options. They are well known and well respected amongst the magical world. A trainee Investigator gets a starting salary of 300 Galleons a month with opportunity for increase depending on prowess and determination through their work.
