Bovec (German Flitsch, Italian Plezzo) is a small alpine town in northwestern Slovenia. One of the 193 municipalities (občine) of Slovenia. 136 km from Ljubljana at an altitude of 434 m, Bovec (ISO 3166-2 geocode SI-006) lies in the Trenta valley of the Julian Alps along the Predil Pass, partially within Triglav National Park. Bovec features the source of the river Soča, the 106 m high Boka waterfall, the ski resort Kanin, numerous hotels, and an airfield (LJBO). The population is 1600.
