The Ebon Essentia, also known as Area E-2, was an area of space in the Dantooine system. At the time of the Galactic Civil War the area was consumed in a war between the Force Assassins and the Warrens Assault Squad. Travelers were ordered to stay clear of the area by Imperial decree. The Empire chose to ignore this war and did not infere.
