Roogna was born in 202 and became King of Human Xanth after King Merlin abdicated the throne and returned to Mundania in 228. His talent is to adapt living magic. He marries Taplin, daughter of Tapis and Merlin, in 236. Roogna is responsible for the construction and features of the castle which bears his name, Castle Roogna, where various kings ruled over the humans for many years. Many of his creations, such as the cherry bomb trees, still survive on the castle grounds. He fought during several waves of invasion. Roogna died during the Sixth Wave in year 286. He was succeeded by Rana.
