The Nobility of Corellia were rich and powerful families that ruled Corellia hundreds to thousands of years prior to the Battle of Yavin. The nobility served under the King of the Corellian Empire, each granted control over their respected territory and its population. After the monarchy was abolished around 312 BBY, the nobility lost most of their control, though retained their prestige and respect, and, of course, their vast wealth.
