Wikia are specialist sites constructed much in the way (and with the same software) as Wikipedia, a giant online encyclopedia that can be updated and amended by all that access it. Wikipedia has a few limitations, namely that the information must be purely factual, which doesnÕt allow for much humour or creative writing to colour itÕs content. ThatÕs not a bad thing in itself, but it explains why Wikia have grown, as many people with specialist interests, or with creative itches to scratch, have come up with ideas for their own Wikia.
