Fred Newton is a character in the novel Final Destination: Dead Man's Hand. He is the elderly husband of Ethel Newton and has five children and twelve grandchildren. While going down an elevator at Merlin's Tower, Ethel offered to help Allie because she felt a little claustrophobic, but Fred exasperatedly demanded for Ethel to leave so they could go play a game in the casino. After advising her and her husband not to let go of each other, she finally leaves, and the two begin to bicker about his bad gambling skills.
