The Battle of Abola was a major military engagement between the United Galactic Alliance and the Thanix Assimilation. The battle took place on the uninhabited world of Abola which was where the Thanix mined for much of their resources. The UGA attacked the mining planet in hopes of weakening the massive war machine that was the Thanix Royal Army. The UGA forces quickly encircled the small planet and an orbital bombardment took place which destroyed most of the mining facilities on the planet.
